Do not mistake the Iron Man comics with the Man in the Iron Mask. Molded iron covering their faces may be the common factor but they are totally different from one another. And although Iron Man is a superhero, he too is unique in his own right. Yes he may be rich like Bruce Wayne a.k.a Batman, but unlike Bruce, Tony Stark doesn’t have that dark of a background and he seems to be one of the funny characters amongst comic book superheroes. Tony Stark alone is an enigma. Him still living, breathing, going about his daily crime fighting life with an artificial heart poses a big question of possibility in real life.

Action packed collectible Iron Man comics are still very much in demand since their first printing in 1963. It was a collaborative work between Larry Lieber, Don Heck, Jack Kirby, and its original creator, editor and story-plotter Stan Lee. Like Spiderman, Iron Man also appeared first on another comic book as a sub-character. Later on, Stan Lee decided it was time that Iron Man shares his adventures. Iron Man has gone through a lot of changes. His suit especially was a very visible change. From grey, his suit changed to gold and red which is now his signature color. Even technical modifications have been done with his Iron suit, modifications that are way beyond realities conception. Even if Iron Man didn’t reach the success of superhero frontrunners, it has become successful its own way.

Iron Man has branched out to other comic books even heading another group of superheroes fighting evil called Avengers. Although the group split up, Iron Man has still kept his own book and continued to be one of the most in depth superheroes. Collectible Iron Man comics are now even more in demand thanks to its film franchise which has brought the comic book adventure to another audience and a whole new generation of readers. Because of its successful, Iron Man has been incorporated into songs by renowned musical artists such as Black Sabbath. Even Paul McCartney was inspired by Iron Man that his song Magneto and Titanium Man was based on him and the X-Men villain.

Although the collectible Iron Man comics did not garner as much success as the Spiderman and Superman comic books, Tony Stark has still made it to the list of Forbes wealthiest fictional characters along with fellow superhero Bruce Wayne and Ozymandias of Watchmen.
