We have some exciting games on the slate for this weekend, most notably an old rivarly game between Miami and Virginia Tech. These two teams have been rivals since their days in the Big East. Now it is renewed as both teams try to contest for ACC dominance.

Miami at Virginia Tech (+3)

Miami comes in as one of the hottest teams in the nation, having defeated two ranked opponents in a row- Florida State and Georgia Tech. Now they try to make it three versus Virginia Tech.

Virginia Tech is coming off a dramatic victory versus Nebraska which it took a closing seconds touchdown to seal the victory.

Miami could very well be one of the best teams in the country, as Jacory Harris is playing lights-out football at the Quarterback position. But I do think Va Tech provides problems. Their style of play is very aggressive just like Miami's and they will be playing at home. They are a very defensive-orientated team and can look to pressure the cool Sophomore of Miami's.

History says that this game will either be a Miami blowout or Virginia Tech close victory. I am going with intangibles and say Tech wins in a close one.

Take Virginia Tech (+3)

Arkansas at Alabama (-17.5)

Alabama seems to be off to another great start to the season, beating another ACC team in it's season opener (34-24) over Virginia Tech and now starts to face some SEC competition.

Arkansas already had their taste of the SEC in a loss last week to Georgia at home. Their offense seems to be clicking on all cylinders with Michigan transfer Ryan Mallett having thrown for 5 TD's in the loss. But now comes the true test of arguably the one of the best defenses in the nation.

It should be an interesting match-up given that Alabama is allowing only 143 yards per game and has allowed 2 passing touchdowns in three games.

Alabama Wide Receiver Julio Jones is a probable to play in the game and will be needed in case they need some points to keep up with Arkansas.

I believe Ryan Mallett will keep Arkansas honest and will challenge Alabama's vaunted defensive. I think 'Bama rolls on to a victory, but I could see this game hanging around a 10pt difference.
