Combination Time Saving
56Multitasking!
You’ve heard of all the other Time Savings, this one is called Combination Time Savings, but it’s not about minutes on the clock. Our lives have become frantic with all the meetings, hurry here, hurry there, give-it-to-me-now situations. We don’t have time for the little things or ourselves anymore, let alone anyone else in our lives. When I say Combination Time Savings, I’m referring to things we can do to save our precious time.
Sometimes people are labeled as being lazy because they forget something, but that’s not always the case. Truth is, they aren’t really lazy…just overwhelmed with all the frantic things going on.
So, here are some time saving tips:
- Take the empty glass or dish back to the kitchen when you go for coffee in the morning
- Load the washer on your way to the bathroom
- Empty the washer into the dryer as you walk by the laundry room
- Turn off the hall light as you walk to the kitchen
- Place a NEW roll of toilet paper on the roller before the current one is empty, placing it on top
- Drop the dirty clothes in the laundry basket when you leave the bathroom
- Unplug the hair dryer when you leave the bathroom
- Return your glass to the kitchen after the movie
- Place the bagged garbage by the door, then take it to the dumpster when you go outside
- Glance around your area before you leave to
- Put items in their proper place right away as you bring them home
- Allow a few minutes each day to organize something
- Plan ahead and consider combining your errand stops into one trip (one stop on the way to your destination and one stop on the way back)
You get the idea – combine your tasks as you enter or exit the room. It’s quit simple to begin practicing Combination Time Saving; it just takes awareness and a little concentration.
Your attention is rewarded
The rewards can provide great efficiencies in several areas of your life. There will be less chores to do on the weekends, less time spent on organizing the tasks, less time spent finding items, and more time available for the fun things!
Planning ahead and organizing your time and direction only takes a few seconds to consider your goal, but you might find that you have more energy because you won’t have that awful clogged feeling.

I began "multitasking" as a young mother because I just didn't have more than 24 hrs to get things done....LOL Now it's become a habit and I have to laugh at the rest of the family when they ONLY do one thing - you understand that tunnel vision or one track mindset! LOL
Great tips Jmell. I sometimes justify walking back and forth to do things I could have achieved in one trip as exercise! :P
thanks cute Feline - my hubby calls it "thinking"

Very interesting ways to multi-task but every minute does count. A dear uncle of mine once told me, "Everyone has time, but nobody makes it"
