Comment on your experience using Rosetta Stone to learn a new language. Is it worth the money ect.
65Learning French
I used Rosetta Stone at our local libary and really enjoyed it. We took a trip to French-speaking Africa and I wanted to at least learn the basics. I tried several different methods, from books on tape, online resources, etc, I would say Rosetta Stone was definately the best, because it helps you identify a picture with the word -- good if you are going to be doing a lot of speaking. If you need to learn the language for writing or reading purposes, it might not be as good.
Check your local library, because you may be able to use it free with your library card at the library. It might be a hassle to travel to the library, but think of it as taking a weekly class. I don't know what it runs, but I would say it's a good investment, because it's easy to use, effective, and encouraging.

I used it for about three weeks and then again about a month later for two weeks. I practices once or twice a week. I had taken French in highschool, so I had a little head start, but I think if you have a month and you practice three times a week, you should be able to do at least some broken Spanish. Enough to get you around (if the people are nice!).
Rosetta Stone is an expensive product but it is highly effective if you study regularly. Check my complete review with screenshots
How long did you spend learning it and how much information did you get? i've got about a month to try and learn some decent conversational spanish.
I spent about 2 months steady, but only about an hour a day. I think if you buckled down and did 2 hours or so a day, you could get some conversation in no problem.
I can't get past the commercials so I don't know. Heres why http://pardonmyopinion.com/2009/08/19/rosetta-ston
