In time like these where someone you know (close or far) have lost a job, it is very essential to prepare your self for the worst. You never know when the dreaded "pink slip" will be handed to you. Rather than waiting for someone to push you out, being prepared for the eventuality will go a long way in helping you.If you have been fired and looking for a new job then you have reached a very good hub that will be helpful.
If you are searching for a new job the key is to prove yourself to the interviewer in less than an hour or a little more what your capabilities are and what you have achieved so far. You might be the genius but until you prove that to your future employer it does not matter. One of the key steps in securing a job is to crack an interview. It is very critical to prepare for an interview. This hub will go a long way in that preparation.
Tip: Remember it is all about convincing the interviewer for an hour or more that your are capable and have the traits and experience to achieve in that job position.

Interview Do's and Dont's
Here are some of the interview tips,
- Always dress up for the interview, even if it is part time casual job dress up for the interview. It shows the employer how much you value that job. People assess you in their first look. Nobody hates a well groomed candidate at first look. Wearing a suit is never too much for any interview.
- Never be late for the interview. What ever your reason might be, being late for the interview is unforgivable.
- Always read your resume before you go into the interview. Be consistent with what you have on your resume.
- It is always good to research where the venue for the interview is. Take a map or get the directions (no such problems if you have a GPS).
- Always take a mint or chew some mouth freshening gum before an interview.
- Always smell nice, a dash of perfume or deodorant never hurts .
- Your interview actually starts when you enter the company compound. Be courteous to every one you see in the building. You never know the guy in the elevator may be the CEO of the company.
- A firm hand shake and eye to eye contact is a must.
- If you take a file with some documents like resume, reference letters, portfolio, certificate,... organize them neatly. Do not fumble and search for documents in front of the interviewer.

Bundleboy, hope you don't mind me sharing this hub. All great common sense advise that people just sometimes forget about or think are not important. I'm with you all the way with smelling nice. I've walked out of an interview dizzy because of a candidate's body odour. Poor guy.
