What is the "American Dream"?

Some would say freedom.  Some would say pursuit of happiness.  Unfortunately, there is also a part of America that would insist that the American Dream is pursuit of wealth.  Sure, they would mention the other ones but it is an unbearable reality that avarice and greed and self-serving extravagance has become associated with what it means to be American.

What is "Distribution of Wealth"?

Some would say evil.  Some would say stupid.  Some would say unfair but further examination and education as to the definition of the concept reveals that it is the epitome of "fairness".  Distribution of Wealth is based upon every citizen having an equal share in the bounty of the country and denies the exploitation of the impoverished, the hard worker, all those who seek the REAL American dream: Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness.

Are Distribution of Wealth and the American Dream compatible?

That much depends on your version of the American dream.  If you seek to live your life in happiness with the things that really enrich life... equal access to education opportunity, quality housing and quality salary/wages... family, life, love freedom... then the answer is yes.  Distribution of Wealth not only is compatible but promotes and enhances the American Dream as well.  However, if your American Dream is exploiting others to make yourself as rich, famous, beautiful, powerful as you can then Distribution of Wealth will most definitely not be an interest.  It will be a threat to the opulent lifestyle.

By the way, if your American Dream is opulence... let me let you in on a not-so-secret secret... You haven't got the American dream.  You've got the Consumerist Dream and the Dream of Selfishness.
