Commuting + Audiobooks = Good Times
56
Like most of us I have a decent commute everyday to and from work (about half a hour on I95, fun times). Instead of listening to the same five songs on my local radio stations I opt to entertain myself by listening to audiobooks. So far in my daily commute I've traveled to Hogwarts, Einstein's office, Farthen Dur, the floor of the ocean, the 1900 century, and the Artic circle.
Audiobooks are entertaining, easy to fit into your schedule, and relatively cheap to own (or check your local library for free rentals). In addition, listening to audiobooks offer educational benefits, such as:
- model good speaking/reading aloud techniques
- model good interpretive reading
- challenge critical listening
- introduce new vocabulary
So, whether you're looking to entertain or educate yourself... or both, try out some audiobooks.
