When it comes to the subject of how much you should feed your dog, consider your pet a person. You wouldn't feed a baby a full adult sized meal, so why would you give your puppy adult dog food? There are several online dog food reviews to help you further and some of their best advice is here:

Portions - Feed your dog in proportion to his or her age. For example, feed a puppy smaller portions than an adult dog. An elderly dog could develop an intolerance to certain types of dog food if given larger portions than his or her stomach can handle.

What Is The Best Dog Food? - The food you give your dog should also be tailored to his or her age, regardless of what you've fed your dog in the past, be it generic commercial brands or natural dog food brands. Puppies should only be given food formulated to meet the needs of puppies because they need more nutrients than adults. Adult dogs require a different balance of nutrients in order to maintain healthy tissue and should be fed dog food specially formulated for adult dogs. The possible exception to this is elderly dogs that need softer foods to aid in digestion with fewer waste products that could upset their stomachs.

Treatment of dog food - Only for puppies and elderly dogs. An adult dog should be able to enjoy adult food but a puppy or senior may only be able to digest softer or blended dog food. Compare dog food to your dog's nature before feeding it to them.
