Your own production studio

Only a couple of years ago, broadcasting live video was either costly or impossinle, depending on where you are in the world. In the last 18 months, several live video sites have come online, the most famous of which are Ustream.tv and Stikkam.com. Each of these has its own audience, and each has different features. Of all the available sites, Mogulus stands out because of the initial intent of the site: to actually allow you to create a TV channel that automatically plays videos 24 hours, 7 days a week and allows you to break in live at any time with a professional-looking production.

Mogulus Studio

Setting up one or more networks

Mogulus has a lot of interesting and original features, when compared to Ustream, Stikkam, BlogTV or Operator 11, all of which work well. When you join Mogulus, you can set up multiple channels. You can add other Mogulus members are participants to a channel. This is called your production team. During a live broadcast, you can cover news or stories by switching to a feed from someone else in your team. Each channel can have title cards (think "Up next: something"), graphics and horizontal scrolling ticker tape associated with it.

KivaTV.org player

The Mogulus Studio allows you to create you video channels with the exact look and feel you want to give them. Like anything else, this will require time and good visual skills, but the end result is well worth the trouble. Because oif the nature of KivaTV, I kept the design elements to a minimum and placed a Kiva banner on the right of the player.

Adding Video on Demand

Build a Library for On-Demand and 24/7 Broadcasts

You can put together a library by uploading video content, doing live shows and collecting videos from the web (YouTube, etc) using a special search tool. You can import videos from podcasts or web servers. The library can then be out into a mode called autopilot which resembles a regular TV channel. This channel is part of the Mogulus network, but players are available for embedding you TV channel on any site. Here's one example, my KivaTV channel.
