Penny auctions Complete Guide

Swoopo and Swoopo Like auctioning sites are not ebay

Penny auctioning site doesn't have the regular type of auctions like e-bay, it's some what different. you can't call on the price you want to pay right away, but you'll only be able to raise the price by a small amount of money (1-15 cents) and increase the timer of the auction for a little bit to give other users a chance to react to your bid.

This sort of auctioning policy can keep the price appealing for a long time and that's what the site is counting on. however, you can get a great deals with great bargains saving almost 90% of the retail price .... but this requires a strategy for bidding and wise decisions to choose which auction to bid in and when to bid and when not to bid.

Here is a list of good Penny auctioning sites I use:

  • Swoopo: one of the largest and most famous auctioning sites available on the web; it has all the flashy new hot market items like iphone and latest game consoles that you can grab for great bargains if you applied the rules in this tutorial.
  • Bidray: a relatively new auctioning site yet an excellent one that have the same concept as Swoopo, but with much less competition, the greet thing about it is that you'll get a free 3 bids when you sign up for free.

In this Guide, I'm gonna mainly talk about Swoopo, however the same concepts can be applied to any other Penny auctioning site.

Are These sites scam ??

If you did a little search using Google or any other search engine you would probably find that many people are complaining about swoopo and and that it's a complete scam taking money from them and they got nothing in return. And despite the fact that you can actually find these claims in respected blogs and review site, all these claim are actually wrong.Swoopo is not a scam, if you won an auction and paid for the goods you'll get what you have paid for, but on the other hand you can pay for the bids but you spent them in auctions that you didn't win, thus lost your money without getting any goods.

Swoopo is an "entertainment shopping site" - as its stated in their help page - and is full with alot of atractive goods from cool accessories to 24" iMacs that are sold seemingly at great bargains.

How does swoopo make money??!!

if many people get these very expensive gadgets with savings up from 80 to 97% ?? Lets consider a notebook with a retail price of $600, and is sold in a penny auction in swoopo for $30. great deal and great loss for swoopo, right? wrong, why... Swoopo sells the bid for $0.75 that means 3000 bids was placed in this auction, then $2250 are spent on bidding alone. Great deal of money for swoopo.

when you decide to enter the competition, you have to know that there's lot of risk and you won't be winning all the time however there are strategies that I'm gonna teach you that will increase your chances to grab the best deals, just keep tuned.

Now that we know that swoopo is not a scam, it's time to learn how to WIN SWOOPO AUCTIONS??!! there are several strategies to use that are going to increase your chance in winning swoopo or any other penny auction (swoopo like) site.

here are the items that everyone of should be aware of:

  • How to choose an auction?
  • when to bid and when not to?
  • how to use your automatic bidder?

The Complete Guide / Tutorial:

1. Avoid Competition.

in order to win an auction, you have to know that the more the competition from other bidders, the less chances you are going to win this auction or the less the bargain your going to have. look for the competition, see how many bidders are there? how many of them are using the automatic bidder? dont enter this auction yet unless these numbers are as small as 1 or 2.

2. Choose the Right Time.

There are some times that the competition in the swoopo auctions are less than usual, these times are dynamic through out the week, however we can say that time from 10am to 12am -time people get to go to work and make their living - or at 1~2am at night - going to bed time - are the best times to sneak and snipe the bargains.

3. Choose the Right Auction.

Fighting against the bid butlers or auto-bidders is pain, I don't like and you also won't like it specially if you are new to swoopo. You should avoid - specially in your first couple of auctions - to engage in battles with auto-bidders, go for the nailbitter auctions where the auto bidders are not allowed.
Also some items attracts lots of bidder, like the Wii and iPhone, try to avoid these auctions as they have too much competetion, and I dont mean to avoid them forever but to wait patiently for a good opportunity to a less competition auctions.

4. Save your precious bids.

Always bid at the last second of the auction. Remember your are paying for the bids, don't wast them. this will minimize the number of bids for you to use to win the auction.

5. Don't get distracted.

You shouldn't get distracted when you start bidding, by another auction or making a cup of coffee or whatever. your paying money to bid. once you start bidding focus on this single auction. if you have to leave for an urgency enable you bidbuttler.

6. Prepare your Money.

You should have half the retail price - of item you're bidding for - worth of bids ready in your account before starting the auction, you'll most probably won't need them all but just in case. remember what makes the price of the swoopo item is the bids place by auctioners not the final price.

7. Avoid fixed price auctions.

The final price never change in these auction. Never Bid on them, the price will stay appealing to the bidders forever making it almost infinite competition. It's the auction company stealing your bids.

8. Buy Bids only Once!!

Strange isn't it? here is the deal, you'll only buy a bid pack once, afterwards, win them in auction. you can grab them at a real smart price if you played it right. I really recommend that go for the 300 bid pack in your first auction, but wait, choose the new comers nail bitter 300 bidpack auction, this should make it a piece of cake for you now that you know all these rules.
Win and share your joy with us here...

that was the end of my humble Penny Auctioning tutorial.
another very good tutorial in a detailed ebook : Win Swoopo: The Definitive Guide To Swoopo Auctions
