Confessions Of A Drug Addict
67Through the years I have experimented with many different drugs. I, by no means, am proud of that fact.
I have answered this request by another hubber and my goal is to explain how each of the drugs I have done have affected me. I will go in the order of what drug I have used first on up to last.
I wrote a hub that also describes my life. You can find it:HERE
I also wrote a hub about my recovery from drugs. Please take a look at I'm Celebrating Recovery.
Nicotine
Very first drug I tried was a cigarette. Yea nicotine is a drug. Here I am 20 some years later still smoking.
Most everyone knows what smoking does and don't fool yourselves, chewing and other ways of nicotine intake can be just as bad.
Marijuana
I must say this was always my favorite of all drugs. I have never caused anyone harm when high on "pot". I do feel that laws in the United States are pretty harsh for "potheads".
Marijuana did not "lead" me to other drugs. When I smoked it, I would usually just sit back and "zone" out.
Fact is: it is still illegal and it is a drug. No, no, no; I don't smoke it no more.
L.S.D.
This was a very "dangerous" drug in my opinion. Just never knew how the trip would go. Many "trips" were just fine. But a "bad trip" can be really hard on a person.
It is very hard to explain the euphoria you feel off of L.S.D. I will say that everything is intensified; especially light.

Speed
After partying late into the night, I needed something to get me through school the next day. Speed was the trick. I took white crosses like candy. Kept me awake.
Cocaine
I loved this drug way too much too. The only way I could afford this habit was to do the "Amway" program. Buy a big quantity, take mine out and cut it some and sell it.
The best way to describe cocaine is it made me 10 foot tall and bullet proof.
I have snorted, smoked and shot it and it will kill you. I have seen many people die from heart attacks brought on by cocaine.
Many of the people that are addicted to "coke" are upper class and don't realize they have a problem until it is too late. If your addicted to cocaine-SEEK HELP!
Methamphetamine
I call it the "devil drug". This drug damn near destroyed my life.
If you are playing around with meth, you have problems.
You don't really know what you are putting in your body but below this video is a picture of the ingredients that are mainly used.
If you are using meth, you will probably do one of several things. Kill someone, kill yourself, catch a sex disease, or end up in prison.
Meth will make you do things you never would. It will crush and destroy you. Take it from a guy that has been there.
Methamphetamine Ingredients
Effects
Here are what some of those ingredients can do to you:
Acetone-Reproductive disorders
Methonol-Blindness, eye damage
Ammonia-Blistering, lung damage
Benzene-Carcinogen, Leukemia
That is just a few. Want to see more? Go to the link to the right and it can show you more.
I also did heroin one time. It was mixed in with the "crank" or meth I did.
Drugs are destroying our nation. If you let them they will destroy you.
Time to lay that crack pipe down. If you need help seek it out. Heck, just mail me and I will lead you to a good spot in your area.
Please remember that drugs just are not worth it. The families are the real victims.

It's a wonder how you got out of it. I have heard about all the drugs you were involved in because I have worked in the Provincail Courts for 25 years. Praise the Lord for escaping hell.
Thanks very much Froggy213 for sharing your experiences.Great hub, here!
And thanks for answering my hub request. My desire was to let hubbers know what it is like to be one, and the different methods of abuse.I am so glad you pointed to the fact that it is always the family that suffers.
Good for you! I'm proud of you!
wow, great hub and the Montel video was so pitiful. Thank God for you that you are here to tell about your experiences and hopefully reach someone before it is too late.
Congratulations on overcoming your drug problem, Froggy. I admire your efforts to keep others from experiencing what you have been through. Personally, I have never taken drugs (unless you count cigarettes, or those prescribed by a doctor) and have never been tempted to take any. It's my belief, however, that when a person smokes marijuana it opens the door to other drugs by virtue of the fact that it represents a decision to experiment with your body to gain "a high." I don't believe that anyone can take any of the drugs you mention without knowing that they are taking a significant risk. The willingness to take drugs reveals a recognition that one's life is missing something that the user believes could be fulfilled by the drug. It's sad that so many people find their lives unfulfilling. I hope any user, or anyone contemplating using drugs, will take your advice. Drugs are not the answer.
Thanks for sharing. I'm new to Hub, but I am not new to the drug abuse scene. Thanks to the fact that my two children did illegal drugs, while I never experimented, I will be involved in drug abuse for the rest of my life; trying to get people to seek help and telling the story of how it has affected our family.
Thanks again and God bless you.
