Stay Away- Don't Encourage
Stay away from your television! Step back. The Travel Channel debuts a new show, Confessions of a Travel Writer. The players are not bad except the one that they choose to be the main player.
The premise is that these writers are the pre-production crew for travel sites. They check it out and make their recommendations. This trip is to Chile.
Charles Runnette is a loud mouth redhead who is negative on everything, people, food, and places. He has something negative to say about each person he met. Unfortunately he seems to be the point person for the Travel Channel. He complains about view from his room. Says he makes enemies on some troops. DUH . In Valparaiso he again complains about his room saying deserves better because of his credits. Patagonia is a big island of penguin poop. Occasionally he actually admits he likes something. By the end of the show he admits it was a great trip, like a vacation but if he was on vacation, it wouldn't be with these four people.
Hey Travel Channel- DITCH HIM. He is as bad as Kirsten Gum was on Cash and Treasures which she destroyed.
The other players are some better.
Shira Lazar is the young babe who knows and hangs with Charles. After hugs, he describes her as a princess who doesn't know what the hell is going on. Seems more interested in the guys than the sights.
Chantal Martineau is an independent writer who actually is interesting and appears to be into the trip. Researching regional food, she gets into her job.
Andrew Evans- writes for National Geographic. He and Jimmy Im are studying the art of Valparaiso walking trip. He pretty much baby sits Jimmy who describes himself as the Chevy Chase of tourists.
The only good thing was the scenery. The show is very forgettable.

It was supposed to be on again this morning but something else showed instead. You think they got the hint?
