The mail client is good alternative for those who want to concentrate on a single program, multiple e-mail accounts such as Gmail, Yahoo! and Hotmail. Since all messages are downloaded to your hard disk, the user can read and write email even while offline, organize contacts and create custom folders.

There are various programs such as Mozilla Thunderbird, Eudora, Apple Mail (Mac), Windows Live Mail. However, the Outlook, to be one of the oldest and has come in the Microsoft Office package ends up being one of the most used in both companies as by home users.

Although Gmail has large storage capacity, with resources from the dynamic rules and can be accessed when there is no connection to the Internet, there are those who want to set it in a mail client.

To guide how to do this, Outlook 2003 will be cited as an example. While in the Gmail is possible to learn to configure other versions of the application.

The first step is to enable Gmail to POP3 standard. Some providers use Microsoft Exchange Server or HTTP, which is the case of Hotmail, this format does not download messages, just syncs.

1) Open your Gmail and go to Settings> Forwarding and POP / IMAP.
2) Enable the POP Download all emails.
3) Select keep a copy in the Inbox and click Save Changes. (you can choose to not keep a copy in the virtual disk. The alternative is not recommended because the copy saved in the Gmail box acts as a back-up)

Done it

1) Open Outlook. Tools tab> E-mail Accounts.
2) Select Activate a new e-mail account> Next.
3) In the Server type box, select POP3.
4) In the User Information, put the account name, email address and then username.
5) At the server, type in the box 3 POP: pop.gmail.com. In SMTP, put smtp.gmail.com.
6) Click More Settings> Advanced.
7) Turn the two encrypted connections. As part of the POP3 entry, type the number 995 and SMTP output, the number 645.

Okay, all messages automatically begin to be downloaded in the inbox of Outlook.
