Confusion

We are living in a time of mental and moral confusion. There is no right or wrong, good or evil.

We are told that it is wrong to judge. We are told not to be intolerant.

We have laws against discrimination and hate. It is incorrect and unlawful to speak hatefully of any one group.Taken on the surface, it is good not to be intolerant and judgmental. But underneath this is a subtle error.

First let me say, I believe that discrimination is WRONG. If discrimination means that someone is treated differently when attempting to live their daily life; finding shelter, food, education or work. Everyone should be treated the same in these areas.

But there is a subtle and confusing mind set contained in this push for tolerance. We are expected to accept all beliefs and lifestyles as good and beneficial even when they are promoting irresponsibility and non-accountability. We are expected to tolerate our enemies even as they cry for our destruction. We are expected to sit idle and be accepting while our children are brainwashed and our institutions are taken over and made into arenas of anti-American, hate filled propoganda. Seems contridictory to me. Why is it that everyone is OK and everyone is to be accepted- except the American, or the Christian? Makes me wonder about UNIVERSAL BROTHERHOOD.

Do you believe there is such a thing as good and evil? Do you believe that there is right and wrong? If you do, then you are judgmental and probably intolerant. Now before you go and get your dander up.....I'm not saying you are a bad person. I'm trying to make a point. Bear with me. What is it that makes a Christian, a follower of Christ, intolerant or judgmental?

In my hub on "What a Christian is Not"....I attemted to make you think about the mind set that is rampant in our country and in the media....that if you believe the Bible as the word of God, if you call yourself a Christian....you must be intolerant and judgmental...in the bad sense of the terms. There is a subtle and very dangerous lie being promoted as truth. It is that we can achieve peace and love without truth, without submission to God's Word, without Christ. It is politically correct to malign the American Christian...but not the enemies of our country that call for our destruction. I am not demanding everyone become as I am....a Christian. Our enemies, if allowed to do so...WILL DEMAND our submission and our becoming as they are.

The world is quickly becoming ONE. We are all expected to join in the UNITY of ALL. Join together in UNIVERSAL brotherhood and love. It is the only way to PEACE. Sounds wonderful, doesn't it? Except it is not human nature to do so. And making a law for or against something does not change human nature. It is especially dangerous if we accept this mind set, and our enemies do not.

There is only one way to change human nature. And that is by acknowledging our sin and accepting that we are sinners. If we believe that we are somehow exempt from sin, or that sin does not exist, or we can overcome sin on our own...we will never see our need for a change in our natures. AA teaches this in their 12 step program. You must first see that you are an alchoholic....if you want to overcome alchohol addiction. You must work the steps to stay sober. Same with becoming a Christian, you must first accept that you are a sinner in need of a Savior. Then you need to apply the Word to your life and change how you live. If you want to truly love, to have real peace...you must seek these from God and allow Him to change you from within.

The world would have you believe that it is intolerant and judgmental.....to say there is right and wrong, good and evil. The world would have you believe that the only way to peace and love is in universal brotherhood. If I accept that my enemy is good and do not judge him...I will not stand up against him, will I? And he will have defeated me. He is free to destroy me. Loving your enemy is commanded, letting him destroy you is not. God loves every human soul, but HE judges whether they are for HIM or against HIM nonetheless. The problem here is not in being judgmental...it is in having no judgment.

There are many who come in the name of Christ, who are not of Christ. This is the reason many believe the negative stereotypes of Christians. But as we are cautioned not to see every Muslim as a terrorist, perhaps we should not view every Bible believing Christian as a judgmental fundementalist who is intolerant and unloving. That is only fair.

There is a lot of speculation on the subject of END TIMES these days. I believe we are in the final age of human government. I believe that there is a real battle between good and evil. I believe in the worth of the human soul and the love of God for the human soul. I do not advocate hatred, or injustice towards my fellow human beings. But it is very dangerous to accept evil and call it good for the sake of unity and peace.
