CONGRESS FAILED IN MANY WAYS

"The disgrace of Congress extends far beyond the scandals that have sullied the record of the dominant House Republicans. They are properly being blamed for most of the misdeeds and blunders that have marked this year on Capitol Hill, from the power-grabs by Tom DeLay, to the greed of Duke Cunningham and Bob Ney, to the sexual overtures of Mark Foley."

It's a tough run for the Republicans. I wonder if it will be enough to let the democrats get control of both houses.

Well, it would be a step in the right direction although not all Dems are on the side of the angels, either. I'm inclined to agree with Nicholas Kristof who wrote recently that he hoped the Democrats would get a majority of one vote in the Senate and the House. His point was that the situation was far from perfect when the Democrats controlled congress for twenty or thirty years.

Some where in all this I really don't think it matters if they just did their job for the voters and tax payers. They are their to represent US not themselves. And I mean all of us not some select lobby group.
