Won’t it be great to double your laptop display? Sure! So? Well, you can connect your laptop to your LCD television, thus making your television to display your videos and other files that are on your laptop! Is it difficult? Oh no! Actually, it’s a snap! First make sure that your laptop supports multiple displays.

First,remember that all Mac laptops come with a VGA adaptor, mini VGV-VGA or DVI-VGA.

PC laptops comes with VGA or S video.

You have 3 options to connect your laptop to your LCD Tv.

• By a VGA 15-pin connector cable

• By a S-Video cable and mini to RCA audio cable

• By a wireless converter

Apart from this all you need is your Laptop and your LCD TV.

First, check out the female VGA input in your laptop which should be labeled with a “display” icon. Then , use the 15 pin ,male-to-male VGA cable , to connect one end to your laptop and the other end on your TV. Make sure you get the length you need.It's is advisable that you do this with everything powered off.
Macs come with a Dongle with which you can connect the DVI output to VGA cable.It sort of serves the purpose of an adapter.

You can also use an S - Video cable instead of a VGA cable. All TV's have an S-video input. Just plug it in and then, take the audio cable and plug the mini end into your laptop and the Red & White into the TV to get better sound than your tiny laptop speakers.

You can also use a wireless PC to TV converter which converts the digital signal on your laptop into a format your analog TV can show. The advantage of wireless is that it is a space saver.You do not have to keep your laptop near the TV , but have it wherever you are !

Browsing in the Big Screen

If your TV screen is a ‘mirror’ which means that it is identical to your laptop screen, then you can use your computer to navigate your way online.
Whereas, if you have extended your viewing capabilities of your laptop to your TV screen, you will have to drag your favorite Internet browser, like Firefox or Explorer, over to the TV screen. When the TV is hooked up properly, it will be automatically recognized as a second display device.
If it does not show up, right-click on your desktop and click on the control panel for your video card. In the Option, click set up multiple displays or screen sharing. This will enable you to turn the TV into a duplicate of your computer desktop and creates an extension of your workspace.
