Ann Arbor Offers Many Methods of Transportation

When hunting for a new house or condo, it’s important to consider what transportation options are offered in your new city.

While gas prices recently hit a new low, they’re slowly climbing upward. According to the Ann Arbor News, gas prices rose 5 cents over the past week in Ann Arbor. While the price of fuel is still well below what it was last year, and cheaper in Ann Arbor than in other parts of the county, it is hard to say whether prices will stabilize or continue to slowly climb.

It’s important to take transportation options into consideration during your housing hunt. Ann Arbor has an excellent bus system, making it easy to access shopping, the downtown, the University of Michigan, and local hospitals. Trips out of town are easy on the Greyhound Bus Line, which offers service to cities all over the country. The Amtrak train can take you on a quick weekend trip to Chicago, or a cross-country journey all the way to California. Flying somewhere? The Detroit Metro Airport is easily accessed via the new Michigan Flyer.

If you’re looking to power your own transportation, check out the many bike trails in Ann Arbor. A biker-friendly city, Ann Arbor boasts bike lanes on many roads, bike racks on local school and university campuses and throughout the downtown area, and several area bike shops to keep your bike in top-notch condition.

As you search for the perfect Ann Arbor home or Ann Arbor condominium to call your own, you can check one thing off your “must-have” list. Ann Arbor is the perfect city to call home. Whether you want to drive, bike, bus, or hike, Ann Arbor is an accessible city full of parks, restaurants, cafes and restaurants just waiting to be discovered.
