Consignment shops have both the advantage of low overhead for shop owners and low prices for some artsy and classy merchandize for the shopper. They are popping up all over the country, and some major areas will be listed here. If you are in an area where there are lots of folks with little used wardrobes, etc, you can attract a good quality of merchandize.

You may be able to get a very good lease for your shop, however you need to be sure that your area for business operation is not in decline and that you do not overpay for your lease. Make sure the lease you sign is not too long in duration, in order to properly assess the consumer and trends in this economy. 

Remember that people are willing to pay for value but price is a major consideration. Unless you are in an upscale area price will be the paramount consideration.
