I've been using Boomerang Email Marketing for about 6 months and think they are great. I checked out these other solutions, but really liked the look of their interface better and the personal attention I got from them. The also offer a few features I didn't see in the other solutions.
Their pricing is based upon monthly plans, but you can always purchsase additional "credits" if you go over by a few emails, or upgrade (and even downgrade) your plan based upon your mailings for the month. They also make it easy to stop - you just "suspend" your account. But your data will all be stored in case you want to pick things up later.
I've been using Constant Contact for a couple of years plus another company called www.ymlp.com and don't have anything good to say about the interface with Constant Contact. The search feature is limited to only email address and last name. You can not search on any other important fields. And to create an html newsletter is painfully long. With YMLP it's insanely easy and half the price. They also give the option to remove all their advertising at the bottom of the email. But, I'm beginning to suspect that since YMLP is based in Europe, it may be causing many of my recipients to not receive the email. So, I'm currently searching for someone similar to YMLP that is based in US. I'll give Boomerang a try and Emailbrain.
Thanks, currently I am using GetResponse but their support is really not up to "my" standards. I have not used any other provider, but for another non-profit, I am currently considering iContent or Constant Contact because they both offer non-profit discounts. I also need to import emails from another opt-in list and do not want those who already opted in to have to opt-in again.

hi, I used both. Both are good technically and the emails arrive. Their billing methods are diffent, in Constant Contact you pay monthly for a maximum number of registers in your list, unlimited emails. In VerticalResponse you pay for every email you send. So the cost of each one could be very different depending on the use you give them. At first I preferred Constant Contact so I didn't have to pay for every email I sent. But then I realize I wasn't using it as much as I wanted, so I switched to Vertical Response which is great. I am very very happy using Vertical Response. And the only bad thing I have to say about Constant Contact is that it was imposible for me to cancel de monthly charge. I sent emails and letters according to their procedure, but no response. The interfase does not have an easy way to cancel (you have to send this letters). The solution only came when my credit card expired.
