What Is A Spirit Guide?

Some say they are the everlasting energy of loved ones. Others tells us they are sometimes soul family members, and a pre-arranged agreement for assistance had been made prior to a particular incarnation. Some are teachers and mentors, here to enlighten us for the 5th dimension. Yet others are leading us to higher vibrational frequencies, through the learning of emotions. Many say this is the higher self in communication.

When you stretch out both arms, you are embracing the energy. In a sense, you are contacting your spirit guide. Many people can "feel" their spirit guide, or guardian angel offering assistance and guidance. If you slow down, quiet the mind, go within to really listen, you will begin to sense and feel the angelic presence. Rest easy knowing all are here to help, and there is nothing to fear.

What About Direct Communication?

Contacting your spirit guide visually or audibly is a gift that needs to be nurtured over time through intense focus and deep meditation practices. As you meditate, plant both feet on the floor, palms in the upright position, and slowly inhale, then exhale completely. Allow wandering thoughts to flow out of the mind with no attachment or resistance to them. After several months, you should develop the ability to alter your states of consciousness, opening the door to communication.

Some people have the ability, while holding a writing instrument over paper, write questions, and witness the pen script without human intervention. Wonderful manuscripts, spiritual in nature have been created in this way.

The Ouija Board:

One method I do not recommend is contacting your spirit guide through an Ouija board. An angel is least likely to partake in parlor games. The reason being lower vibrational spirits seem to enjoy this form of communication, and see the Ouija board as it is - a game. I began my research in this way, it was very entertaining, although I learned nothing significant with the exception that communication from the "other side" indeed exists. This was as astounding discovery, as previously, I was uncertain the source of magic in my life.


Since birth, most humans have been slowly drifting from our inner awareness. The analytical side of the brain begins to take over, dominating over the spiritual side. Now we have created an energy blockage, preventing paranormal communication.
