Shenzhen is a sub-provincial city of GuangDong province in southern China, located at the border with the Hong Kong, Shenzhen is a center of foreign investment and since the late 1970s has been one of the fastest growing cities in the world. It is also the busiest port in China. In the past two decades, outsiders have invested more than $30-billion in Shenzhen for building factories and forming joint ventures.

The design of this city has taken a hybrid approach of the American city and Hong Kong. The wide street (6-8 lanes) and wide side walk resembles that of American city. The Boulevard, basically shop-skyscrapper approach resembles that of Hong Kong plus traditional shop-house design, ensuring a vibrant street life.

This is the main street with all the new skyscrapers. The arrangement offers a dramatic view when you drive through the city.

The building in the back is the Di Wang Building, 1,260 ft. It is taller than the Empire State Building. The trees on both side of the street is what have been lacking in most cities.

China Resource Building (part of the MixC Mall complex), the one with the glass roof, is the skyscraper with the finest detail in Shenzhen.

The silvery dark color of the structure and light dark glass give the building a very stately feelings.

The detailing is of very fine quality. It is one big step for skyscrapers in China.

An image of the MixC Mall connected to the building. It is the finest mall and most contemporay building in shenzhen.

The interior of the mall is bathed in natural light from the top.

An entrance for the ShenZhen Metro (subway). ShenZhen has a very new and easy-to-use subway system.

Here are more images of other new skyscrapers in the city. They have very nice skin.

The new commercial skyscrapers are very modern.
