Control Line Flying

Control line flying looks like a great hobby. I have been thinking about doing it as a full time hobby. For the people that do not know what control line is. Control line is flying a gas powered or electric airplane on a small cable type lead out wire that leads to a handle. You can do all kinds of neat tricks with them. Brodak has an annual fly-in competition every June. This year it is going to be from June 10th to the 14th.

Control line is very fun from the time you open up your new kit. Seeing what will be your plane to fly when it is put together has to be one of the best feelings ever. Knowing that you put your pride and hard work into building something so precious. Lets just hope you can fly really good. Watch out for trees and other obstructions in the way.

You can have just about any color airplane you could ever imagine. One of the bigger airplanes that I would like to fly when I get to be at the master stage would be the Strega. The Strega is one of the larger scale airplanes and requires a tough person to hang onto the plane. Ok maybe it might not be that tough but it sure will give you a run for your money.

If you have nothing better to do check it out. It just might be your next hobby. Or even better yet profession! Control line has been around for decades but died out and is making a huge comeback. So grab a plane and I might just see you out flying sometime. Sit back relax and enjoy the flight.
