Conveniently Religous
54Religion can be a touchy issue for some people and naturally
I have my opinions on the topic. If I had no opinion I would not
be writing about it.Regardless I am going to attempt to share
my thoughts and information in an unbiased manor. Though
this topic is not simply about religion. More or less I am writing
about those who abuse religion to justify anger, racism, and
sometimes criminal behavior.
Can someone abuse religion?
My answer to that is yes. When it is used only to support criminal behavior or to judg others for the way the look or live, I consider that abuse. Religion is supposed to teach us how to live, not how to judge others. In fact I am rather certain that we are not supposed to judge others. I find it especially annoying when people become religous all of the sudden only to support thier own nasty behavior. An example of that would be any protests against the gay community. Those protestors often use horrible vulgar language, then raise up posters that partially quote scriptures that are supposed to be anti-gay.
In this country we have the right to believe what we want and say what want (sort of). We are all entitled to our own opinions. However, I find it rediculous that those people who are so anti this and that and use the bible to support thier beliefs do not aknowledge thier own behavior is exactly what most religions are against. Where in the bible does it say to BASH those people who are different then you?
Heres a better idea!
I think it is great that we have the right to choose our religion. I think it is great that we have freedom of speech and the right to protest. I also think we often abuse our rights. If you don't think being gay or lesbian is o.k., but don't go beating up every gay person you see. That proves no point at all, except that your an idiot and a criminal. If you don't agree with the young woman going to have an abortion, that's fine. Keep in mind you may not know how she came to be pregnant in the first place. If you want to share your opinion with a young woman you think is making a mistake, talk to her, don't attack her and make her feel as though she is the worst human being on the planet. Who does that help? Pass judgement on your own time and don't use the bible to support your behavior. Last I heard "Judge not, that ye be not judged. Mathew 7: 1-5" . There's my bible quote for the day!
O.k. I could go on and on about this topic, but I am an unorganized twit with little time to spare. It would take me a year to share all my thoughts about religion and so on. Besides I've got to save something for next time right?
