Conversational Hypnosis Tips

Conversational hypnosis is an extremely powerful psychological method. You can hypnotize people to do all kinds of things that they wouldn't do otherwise, AND you can do so secretly.

That's right - they won't even know that they are hypnotized!

I know you're cool - but please promise me one thing: NEVER use covert hypnosis in unethical ways. (Because if you do, you're really kind of stupid... when you have those communicative powers over others, there's absolutely no need to cheat other people, because you can get what you want in ethical ways!)

So, before you read on - promise! Ok? Promised? Ok, let's move on!

The first step in hypnotizing someone conversationally is to make them trust and like you. Some people are naturally good at this, but it doesn't matter if you are. Because there is a method for that - it's called establishing rapport.

Establishing rapport is about doing certain things the way the other person does them. "Copy" their body language, their type of speaking (fast, slow, melodic...), use phrases that they use. You can learn more about that in the conversational hypnosis course.

Once you made them trust and like you, it's very easy to put them into a trance, by using just one of the many techniques from the conversational hypnosis course. The next step then is to give them posthypnotic suggestions, so they will do what you want them to do.

What's cool is that they will never know that YOU made them take that action. To them, it will seem as if it was their own idea. But you'll know who really is pulling the strings...

Yes man that's true. We have a lot of people here in India who practice that. They are called 'Baba's here.

wow, that's interesting! I never heard about Baba's. If you come back to read this, please share a bit more info about them (or even make a hub of your own?) :-)

Hi

I love that fact that anyone can use conversational hypnosis for positive benefits and to build relationships quicker. I think getting rapport with anyone is an art that should be taught in school.

Be great to hear more from you

Thanks for this info. As well as 'conversational' it can be incorporated into a selling process. I recently had a brilliant idea about this application, working through simple 2 way choices... would you prefer A or B? Then finally arriving at an ACTION that is clearly decided upon by the client. Get that? Geoff.

I love this stuff.  I was into it over ten years ago.  It's a repackaging of something called NLP, or Neurolinguistic Programming.  A form of suggestion brought about by conversational entrainment, rapport, and subtle suggestions.  It also allows you to pick up on someone's subconscious thought processes - at least in a general sense - by observing their behavior.  Here's the Wiki on it:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Neuro-linguistic_prog

NLP was promoted in Santa Cruz in the 70's as part of the human potential movement by Richard Bandler and John Grinder.  By the late eighties they were fighting each other over who owned the rights to NLP, and Bandler got off on charges of having shot a coked-up hooker in his hotel room.  Of course, Bandler was by then reporting earnings of over $800,000.  Livin' the dream, man:

Is NLP ethical?  That probably depends on how it's used, but in most cases the application is pretty unethical.  The defining terms of black magick are anything that encroaches upon someone else's free will, and in terms of karma the vast majority of applications of NLP would probably go into that category.  Whether that's a direction someone would like to go in is up to them, but I'd like to think that I'm better than that.  Still, it's kewl to read about.

I don't believe this works. I tried to stop smoking with hypnosis and it didn't work. Then how is "secret hypnosis" supposed to work?

Actually, many people stop smoking and drinking after hypnotized, but you have to be careful with it, cause it works like a computer code, so there can be "bugs" in the system. Its better, to do it consciously, BG...
