Education and Training in Chicago and Cook County

The following list includes the top schools in the Greater Chicago Area. These schools offer programs in art, music, trades, clerical careers, business ownership, professional psychology, architecture, medicine, healthcare careers and technologies, aerospace and commuter enginnering, and dozens more.

Chicago is a large metropolitan area that offers oceans of opportunities for career and education seekers. A very progressive city, it hosts green initiative projects with hundreds of green collar jobs and research opportunities, a respected tradition of criminology that is based in true rehabilitation and prevention, cutting edge healthcare research and treatment, globally known architecture styles, culinary training known the world over, and dozens of successful social services and women's organizations.

Tourism and travel abound in Cook County, with Navy Pier, The Loop, fine dining, museums, art insititutes, ethnic sectors that welcome newcomers to their foods and tradiitons, a Ukrainian Easter Egg Exhibit of art that is nearly thousand years old, and untold adventures to be discovered. Travelers, students, and job seekers can probably find anything they need in Chicago and Cook County.


Wide Range of Training Programs

These videos illustrate the wide range of education and training possibilities in Chicago and Cook County. Healthcare, including mental health solutions and prevention programs, enjoy high success rates in student career placements and on the job success. Criminology is an active career and training field as well. The trades are active and groing. Music and art are alive in Illinois. Acting and comedy abound, including Second City, and fine dining and culinary training are tops.

Information Technology is used in healthcare, criminology and justice, insurance, and other frields of work and is important in the educational system of Cook County. Training opportunities cover those options as well. In addition, many of the local colleges are active in renewable energy projects in the city, with the results of adding increasing numbers of green jobs to Cook County and Chicago and promoting renewable energy resources.
