Gifts For Dad You Can Afford
63
It’s Father’s Day!
Today’s the day you tell your dad how cool he is, and how much you appreciate him. There are loads of ways to do this, most of us just give him a gift and hope he likes it. Unfortunately, the gift-giving aspect is often a source of stress for those of us trying to find something Dad will want.
My advice to you – just get him something hip.
Why? Cos this isn’t back-to-school-shopping. You don’t have to get him something he’s going to use on his next DIY project. I vote for getting him something cute, clever, and fun. Yes, that’s right. Because most Dads love that kind of stuff, but would never splurge on themselves.
That’s where you come in!
These 5 gifts are from Brookstone.com. You probably know it as the gadget shop in the mall. It’s usually full of men passing time while their wives buy out Vickie’s Secret. Which tells me they like what Brookstone sells.
Here are my picks for cute and affordable:
This is pretty neat-o. You download pics to it (supports PC or Mac) and take it with you wherever you go. It holds up to 56 pics, and can fit in Dad’s man purse. Cos we all know Dad loves to be reminded of those pesky adult-children who still pop in for a cash allowance whenever they’re running low!

Grill Alert Talking Remote Meat Thermometer
Every Dad likes to show his prowess on the grill. Unfortunately, most of them like entertaining the guests at the same time, resulting in burnt steaks, burgers, etc. Well, here is the perfect solution for a chatty chef! This spiffy remote thermometer works up to 300ft away, and even clips onto Dad’s belt, so he can look super cool. It will tell him when the steaks are “almost ready” and “ready!”Awarded 5 Stars by Good Housekeeping.

(yes, a little pricey-ish, but I thought it was too cool to leave out!)
If you’ve been meaning to have a heart to heart with Dad about those hairs that keep peeking out of his ears and nose – here’s your chance. It’s completely “ouch free”, and cuts hair, as opposed to yanking the buggers out. Which, of course, Dad will be thrilled to know. When he’s done grooming, he can rinse it under the faucet and that’s it!
Price: $32

Every man loves to play with remote controlled toys. Not as much as women…but close. This toy is pretty cool looking. It’s a yellow submarine you can place in the pool and navigate from remote control. Moves in all directions and even has headlights!
Price: $40
So there you have it. 5 nifty gifts Dad will love – and won’t break your piggy bank. Sure beats another tie!
