Cordless drills divided into three main types

Cordless drill - this type can be used only for drilling holes.

Drill/Driver - this type can be used for drilling holes and for screwdriving (you can use this type as screwdriver)

Hammer drill - this type mainly is used for drilling holes in concrete or masonry. Hammer drills do not only spin drill but also applies a hammer action to the bit. Hammer drill typically have the ability to switch the hammer mode off and then this type of drill work as simple drill.

Also exist different variations of this three types, as example I can provide cordless drill/driver with hammer mode.
