Most people think that the cost of breast augmentation is really expensive, but it really needn’t be dear at all. Normal breast implants can vary in price from about $2,000 right up to the $10,000 mark, all dependent very obviously on a whole range of on a number of issues. With the national average cost sitting at just over $3,800, you would almost certainly pay more in the larger metropolitan areas. That being said though, the least expensive locations to have breast implants are usually found in the southern most states.

Wherever you are located though, be sure to ask if the price that has been quoted is inclusive of just one or two implants. Although this may seem a pretty obvious statement, some people do forget to ask and end up facing double what they expected when they finally receive their bill! If you are prudent enough to get all the details covered before you go ahead, you shouldn’t encounter any problems at all.

Issues That Affect Pricing

As you saw in the first paragraph, the cost of breast augmentation price range does vary dramatically, but what are the factors that make this so?

Well, for a start the sort of implant used will make a huge difference as silicone type implants cost a lot more than the saline type. On average you would expect to fork out almost $1,000 more per implant, but again, this could vary depending on your location. Also you have to be wary of what exactly the price covers as the implants by themselves can cost about a grand each. On top of this, the anesthesia can cost between $500 and $800, while hospital or clinic charges normally run to about $1,000. Recovery medication also adds up dramatically and can inflate the cost. Just be sure any quote you receive covers all eventualities so you aren’t surprised in any way, shape or form. Most highly regarded and reputable clinics should offer you the information you require in detail beforehand.

Once you have taken the plunge and have your implants put in, after a few years you will have to go for a follow-up which usually comprises of an MRI, and can cost almost $2,000. Just so you are very sure – this is in no way an optional expense. You have to get this done to ensure your implants are not leaking or ruptured.

Do Breast Implants Affect Insurance

Lots of people find it difficult to obtain any sort of funding for any implants they may require. For the most part, health insurance doesn’t pay toward the cost of breast augmentation. There are exceptions to the rule though, but these are usually related to situations where the procedure is necessary for breast reconstruction after having a mastectomy.

Even if you happen to be lucky enough to obtain coverage for breast augmentation, for the most part it will not cover any health issues that may arise from the implant surgery, any MRI's  or follow-up appointments. Just make sure you are on the ball about what is included and what isn’t in your health insurance plan.

What Should You Fork Out?

There isn’t a price that can be put on quality breast augmentation procedures and if, for example, a doctor were to offer to do the job for ludicrously low price, you may be better off looking somewhere else. It really isn’t worth risking your health going somewhere that is not safe or even trustworthy just to save some money.

Just remember one thing, a breast augmentation that has been done badly may end up costing much more than you ever anticipated because you may need to have corrective surgery, or even have the implants taking out. At the end of the day, quality wins over cost every time.

It is such a good sharing. As a matter of fact surgery always has risk and no guarantee and can no longer restore its originality. The cost of surgery is not a one time cost as it is an on going basis when replacement is needed.
