Cross stitch is one of the oldest forms of embroidery art, and can be found all over the world!  Counted cross stitch patterns require you to do just as it says… count!  Cross stitching is a method of embroidering in which an “x” is marked repeatedly on grid-like fabric to create a pattern.  It is best to use an even-weave fabric such as Aida or linen.  Using a chart, you count the squares on your fabric to determine where you will place your stitches.

If you are new to cross stitching, I suggest checking out some of the free cross stitch designs at the Leisure Boutique to look for your first project!  There are great patterns that you can download from "Baby Dreams" to "Welcome Home".  That way, you can give cross stitching a try without spending a dime!

If you are looking for a specific design, such as an alphabet cross stitch, or perhaps a wedding cross stitch pattern, the Leisure Boutique can still be a great source for you!  Just type what you are looking for in the search box, or browse through their large selection of patterns and kits. You're sure to find something perfect for any occasion!
