An Arkansas couple had a baby daughter Thursday, their 17th child and their 7th girl. The couple said immediately after the birth they are still not ready to stop having more babies.
The new baby daughter named Jennifer Danielle was born at 10:01 a.m at a hospital in Rogers, Arkansas. The mother Michelle Duggar and Jim Bob Duggar are both ecstatic about their 17th child.
Michelle Duggar told the press that they would love to have more babies and that they love the ruffles and lace, referring to baby girls.
Jennifer along with her 16 siblings will live in 7,000 square foot (650 square meters) home in Tontitown. All the children are home schooled. The oldest of the children is 19 years old.
"We are just so grateful to God for another gift from him," said Jim Bob Duggar, a former state representative. "We are just so thankful to him that everything went just very well."
All the siblings have names starting with the letter J, they are: Joshua, 19; John David, 17; Janna, 17; Jill, 16; Jessa, 14; Jinger, 13; Joseph, 12; Josiah, 11; Joy-Anna, 9; Jedidiah, 8; Jeremiah, 8; Jason 7; James 6; Justin, 4; Jackson, 3; Johannah, almost 2.
The Duggars have been prominently featured in the Discovery Health Network. Their next special, the Duggar Family Album, is scheduled to air next month according to Jim Bob Duggar.
Some of the facts found in the Discovery Health Networks' Web Page devoted to the Duggars are: Michelle have been pregnant for 126 months, about 10.5 years of her life. All their babies have been born on months except June and have used an estimated 90,000 diapers.
Getting so many babies are fine, but a child need more attention from the parents, I don't know how the Duggars can focus on every child, instead will be influenced more by their siblings. I think children should have a gap between them so they can get good parental love especially during the early part of the years. Already Earth is hosting a large population, which is hurting Earth's resources at least for the sake of their fellow human beings the Duggars should show some restraint.
What do you think about a family having a large number of kids? What if their kids decide to follow their parent's footsteps?

Great Comments Angela, they should about the Children's well being. It seems like this couple is addicted to getting children. They should take care of the kids and provide them the best of opportunities. Hope she thinks twice about getting more, but most likely she will get more until she can't get no more. We will just pray nothing happens to the family, so the children are taken care off well.
Good heavens, blow out the candle they are coming after the flame! This is a huge family and rightly said cgull I hope they will think twice before having another one.
They always think from their perspective, this couple should think about the child and do what is best for them.

This is waaay too many kids, for exactly the reasons you cited. Not to mention the wear and tear on that poor woman's body. Each pregnancy takes valuable calcium from the teeth and bones. I believe it takes 2 years for a female's body to build the calcium back up.
And the children can't possibly be getting quality one on one attention from their parents. How do they ever get to ask their parents for advice on personal problems?
I'm sorry, but 17 kids is ridiculous. If they didn't have corporate sponsors sustaining them, how would they ever feed, clothe, house, and pay for college educations for all of them? What if one parent becomes seriously ill or worse?
