Typical Cracker Barrel Table Setting

Cracker Barrel Old Country Store

Cracker Barrel Old Country Store is a combination store and restaurant. The store sells old-fashioned toys, candies and food. The Cracker Barrel restaurant sells country cooking menu items.

Cracker Barrel Old Country Stores have long porches with rocking chairs and checkers game sets. Cracker Barrel Old Country Stores is based in Tennessee.

If you crave something from the Cracker Barrel menu, look here to see if your favorite Cracker Barrel copycat recipe is listed. From Cracker Barrel biscuits to Cracker Barrel chicken and dumplings and hash brown casserole recipes, even Cracker Barrel dessert recipe clones are here.

Almost Cracker Barrel Recipe - Grilled Chicken Tenderloins

Cracker Barrel Copycat Ingredients

Makes 2 servings

  • 1 pound chicken breast tenders
  • 1/2 cup Italian salad dressing
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons honey
  • 1 teaspoon lime juice (Fresh is best)

Mix up everything but the chicken. Pour over the chicken and marinate for at least one hour. Then cook the chicken breast tenders on the grill or in a non-stick pan until golden brown and cooked through. Be careful not to overcook or they will become dry.

This simple Cracker Barrel chicken recipe is my favorite menu item at Cracker Barrel. I could never figure out the exact mix of ingredients. I am delighted to find out that this copycat recipe is very easy to make.

The original restaurant recipe clone instructions say to drain the seasonings from the Italian dressing. But I'm lazy and I actually like the Cracker Barrel Chicken tenderloins recipe better with the spices. It's your choice. But leaving out the spices does make it taste identical to the original Cracker Barrel recipe.

Chauncey Reese,

Thanks for stopping by. I have a lot of webpages like this one that have recipes that are copycats of different restaurants. I am not connected in any way with Cracker Barrel Old Country Store.

I haven't posted all of the copycat recipes that I have. I will look through my recipe collection and see if I can find Broccoli Cheddar Chicken. If not, I will try to find it online.

I found this while looking around the intert00bs... I hope it helps.

This cracker barrel broccoli chicken recipe is simple.Layer chicken breasts in 9x12 panTop the chicken with cooked broccoli pieces (defrosted frozen broccoli is what cracker barrel uses).Top the broccoli with crumbled Ritz crackers (do not crumble the Ritz cracker much).Put in oven and bake 350 degrees around 1 hour or until chicken is done.Top with cheese sauce.I do not have the cheese sauce recipe but any good cheddar cheese sauce will do.Please let me know how this comes out. I am making it today.

I've not tried it yet.. so I'm not sure if it is the real deal, but it doesn't look like it's too far off the mark if at all.

Anyone have recipe for Cracker Barrel's Chicken Salad on Sour Dough Bread? I'd especially like ingredients for salad dressing used for this sandwich.

I've already found their chicken salad over lettuce with cheese and tomato, but it seems to have more ingredients than the sandwich had. Their Chicken Salad on Sour Dough Bread seemed simpler.

Thanks in advance for any help.

Mary Nicastro, for the pancakes, we use a premade mix. You can buy it in the retail shop half of the restaurant.

HeathenAngel, that's pretty much what is done for the Wed night DDF Broccoli Cheddar chicken. Just add butter over the crackers. The sauce is also premade, we just boil it in it's bag, so I can't give you any hints there.

I would love to get the Cracker Barrel recipe for their Apple Cheddar Chicken. I had it last October while traveling to Pittsburgh. When I stopped this year, they didn't offer it on their menu. What a disappointment. I'd love to make it for my family. It's a great Fall recipe.

I found the recipe for the Broccoli Cheddar Chicken and made it last week. It was exactly like Cracker Barrels - The recipe above is close but after the chicken and broccoli you just drop - Surprise - chunks of velveeta cheese on it. The recipe calls for 8 oz but I used a little more. Then crush ritz crackers and mix with 1/4 cup butter and sread on top of the cheese. Bake and enjoy! I was shocked that the cheese part was just velveeta, I figured it was some complicated mix of ingredients but no, plain ole' velveeta!

I am a Cracker Barrell customer of many years. I recently had bypass surgery, and now I avoid trans fats. This past weekend I stopped at a Cracker Barrell on the road and I asked the waiter if she would ask the chef what oil was in the pancake batter that they use. She confirmed that the batter had "partially hydrogenated oil" which is trans fats and is bad for all who eats it. I also notice on several web sites that Cracker Barrell uses Bisquick (also transfat unless you use the new Bisquick with no transfats) for your biscuits. Question: Do you have plans to remove "all" transfats from your menu? If everyone were educated on transfats and knew what they do to a cornary artery, they would not eat at Cracker Barrell. Thank you for your response.

Hi, my name is Margaret and I am trying to find out how the cracker barrell makes their chicken and rice dinner. It has some type of gravy over the rice and that is what really makes it great. My e-mail is wma5000@aol.com just in case you have the answer.

Thanks

Why, when people love the brocolli chicken cheese do they only do it on Wednesday nights? I have to drive 30 miles for this. Not good.

Vince Marra  says:

You want to marinate the chicken for at least 24 hours. Cracker barrel marinates for 24 hours before serving the marinated chicken.

As for the Broccoli Cheddar Chicken, It is simple and I know the exact recipe.

Chicken BreastsBrocolli FloretsRitz CrackersButter

---- Cheese Sauce ----MilkAmerican CheeseVelveeta Cheese

Heat Oven to 350 F. Place chicken breasts in baking pan.Evenly distribute broccoli over and arround chicken breasts.Place 1/2 cheese sauce over chicken/broccoli. Mix crumbled ritz crackers and melted butter. Distribute cracker mix evenly over chicken/broccoli.Bake for 45 min or until chicken is at least 180 degrees F and crackers are golden brown. Add extra cheese sauce upon serving. (I know its a little rough but its the exact recipe. I work there.)Hope you all enjoy it. I can give many more recipes if you would like. Just contact me at my website. Regards,

Vince

Also, please note that Cracker Barrel does not use Bisquik!

We make our biscuits from scratch using flour and shortening. Then we use our new "No Trans Fats" margarine to top the biscuits.

Cracker barrel has changed their cooking margarine to a no trans fats margarine. So it is now ealtier for you to eat. (but nothing can replace butter)
