Crafting leather in Runescape is handy because it allows you turn cowhides into a bunch of useful items.

With soft leather, you can make boots, gloves, soft leather bodies, leather chaps, and cowls. And with the hard leather, you can make hard leather bodies. Both soft and hard leather bodies are forms of armour.

How to Craft Leather in Runescape

First thing you are going to need is some cowhides so go start killing some cows in the cow fields and collect their hides. Then go visit Ellis. He's the tanner in AL-Kharid. Have the hides converted into either normal or hard leather.

Hard leather costs more to make, but it is stronger than regular leather and makes better armor.

Now that you have leather, it is time to start crafting. While you are in in Al-Kharid, visit the crafting store and pick up a needle and thread. For every five leathers that you have, you'll need at least one thread. You can also get craft supplies in Rimmington if you've already left Al-Kharid or have run out.

Put the thread in you inventory and then use the needle with your leather. When you get the pop-up box on what you want to make, right-click your selection and select.
