What you will need for this craft:

• A white apron, you'll find it in a kitchen supply store
• Fabric paints in assorted colors
• Old newspapers to spread on the work surface to prevent a mess
• Thin paint brushes
• 1 ½ inch paintbrush
• Strips of fabric to use for practice

How to do this craft:

1. It might be a good idea to do a few practice prints till you get the hang of it.
2. Lay the apron on your work surface.
3. Paint your hand with fabric paint.
4. Now, working quickly before the paint dries, press your hand firmly on the apron, fingers spread wide, on a place where you want to make a flower. (I would do this with green paint)
5. Repeat this on a few places, leaving space for the flowers and bugs.
6. Now you have to wash your hands with soap and water and dry it.
7. Using your fingers, your finger prints, make petals for the flowers at the end of your fingers so that your hand and fingers forms the plant and the flower stems.
8. With a thin paint brush paint the centers of the flower.
9. Using red paint, make prints of your fingers around the flowers and other places on the apron. These will become ladybirds.
10. With a thin paintbrush, paint the black spots and the legs of your bugs.
11. Use your imagination if you want to make bees, use yellow paint and paint the detail with black etc., whatever you feel like.
12. Let it all dry and your gift is ready.

Photo Decoupage Plates - Mother's Day Gift Craft For Kids

In this mother's day crafts for kids you make a lovely plate for mom with a photo of you on it. Every time mom serves cookies in these she'll be reminded of mother's day of this specific year. This is a mother's day craft for kids that will give mom pleasure for many years to come.

This is what you will need for your mother's day crafts for kids:

• 1 Clear glass plate
• Wide mouth aluminum can, wide enough to rest the plate upside down on without the plate falling off
• A pair of crafts scissors
• Decoupage glue
• 2 Sponge brushes
• White acrylic paint
• Colored tissue paper in the colors of your choice
• A photocopy of a photo of you, in a size that will fit on the bottom of the plate (it can rather be a little smaller than the plate than too big as you do not want to have to cut the photo to fit)
• White drawing paper
• A pencil
• Colored crayons or pencils

1. Place the plate upside down on your white drawing paper
2. With your pencil trace around the edge of the plate.
3. Now turn your plate the right way around and trace around the base of the plate. You should now have a strip traced the width of the border of the plate
4. In this strip write the date and the year of this year's mother's day. Write with double lines so that you can color the letters in, in the different colors you choose.
5. Cut out the date to form a rounded strip that will fit onto the rim of the plate.
6. Now you place the plate upside down on the aluminum can.
7. Using your one sponge brush, paint the base of the plate with the decoupage glue.
8. Press your photo face down onto the base of the plate and smooth our all air bubbles with your fingers.
9. Tear the tissue paper into small pieces.
10. Using the same sponge brush paint the back rim of the plate with decoupage glue. Carefully press the date onto the back rim of the plate and smooth out all air bubbles with your fingers.
11. Press the torn pieces of tissue paper onto the back of the plate to cover all areas of the plate that is still empty.
12. Make sure that the pieces of tissue paper overlap. It does not matter if some pieces hang over the rim as these will be trimmed of later.
13. Now you have to let the plate dry for an hour.
14. When it is dry, trim away the extra paper from the edges.
15. Using the remaining sponge brush, paint the back of the plate with the white paint.
16. Make sure you cover the whole plate.
17. Now you have to let the plate dry for several hours.
18. Your plate is now ready to wrap for your mother's day gift to mom.

Remember to tell mom that this decorative plate must only be washed with a damp sponge and not to wash it in the dishwasher!

This mother's day craft for kids may take a little more preparation and the kids may need a little more help, but, the end result is well worth the trouble.

1. Start by tearing the wrapping paper into small pieces.
2. Now you paint the frame, on the outside, with decoupage glue using your sponge brush.
3. Press your torn pieces of paper onto the frame smoothing it out with your hand.
4. Continue pasting paper onto the frame until it is completely covered. Make sure that the papers overlap and do not worry about pieces that hang over the edge of the frame as we are going to trim those later.
5. To seal the papers, you paint a layer of decoupage glue over the papers.
6. Now you have to let the frame dry for several hours until the glue is completely dry.
7. Finally your trim away the pieces of paper hanging over the sides of the frame and you place the photo inside the frame.

• About 30 craft picks (it depends on how large a fan you want to make)
• Thick Tacky glue
• A pencil

• A 1" cabone ring.
• Ribbons, lace and ribbon flowers for the trimmings (your choice)

How to do this easy kids craft:

1. Take your 4" ribbon, lace or fabric and make half-inch folds in it. (The little ones should have no trouble once they get the idea.)
2. Now mark of your craft picks at 1¹/₃" from the rounded ends.
3. Apply thick tacky glue along the top edge (the thinner part.)
4. Tuck the glued end of your craft pick up inside each fan fold.
5. Leave your fan to dry.
6. Now you glue the rounded ends of the craft picks together to form the bottom of your fan.
7. Glue the cabone ring to the bottom to neaten it up.
8. Decorate your fan at the bottom with ribbons, lace and ribbon flowers as you desire. (Here it is a good idea to let the kids use their imagination.)
