Sounds Like A Scam To Me

Recently a friend went on the website “Craigslist” searching for a job; she came across what seems to be a major scam that I want to share with you all. She searched the local Chicago craigslist website but I am sure this ad is running on all the websites. Upon finding what sounded like a great job opportunity she emailed a resume, she received a really fast reply asking if she could interview Saturday October 10 at 1pm, thinking it was amazing how quickly this was all happening she never thought once when they told her that the interview would be done through an online conference.

Interview day arrived, she logged in at the time they requested, surprised to see that there were many others like her who had all logged in as well. The interview started with a man by the name of Steven Munson or Paul Munson appearing via webcam to speak with everyone introducing who the company is and what they do. I was told that the man appeared really nervous drinking lots of water throughout his appearance.  Below is what was said that employees who were hired would be expected to do

They would be paid anywhere from $2000 to $12,000 as a recruiter. The job would simply be going through job orders then producing matches to set up for interviews. They would then receive 50% each time an employee hires someone they matched to a job.  Employers would pay 20% to 30% of candidates’ first year salary, meaning if total invoice is $8,800 then you as a recruiter would receive $4,400 which is half.  Everyone in the interview room was told they would be presented a 1099 as an independent contractor if hired.  After a little more discussion which lasted about a hour maybe longer the people in the online conference room were told they would have to pay a $300 fee or at least half in order to get started working for the company “Recruiting Professionals”  the chat section was also opened up immediately. My friend and I am sorry that I cannot mention her name then stated that many were just paying the money right on the spot though credit cards and PayPal. There were said to be some who were asking questions, she in turn started asking questions such as why people should have to pay to get a job, the company’s direct address along with other information.  The only response she received was a telephone number to call, but she kept insisting to know the company’s history then she was dropped out of the room.

It all sounds really suspicious to me; I was told this ad is running now on Craigslist either in customer service, human resources or similar categories. Far Below is a copy of the email that she received to her inbox but if anyone has any experience or knowledge of this company it would be helpful.

Hi Brandon,

I also saw this ad on the Dallas Craigslist. Too many scams out there. I didn't respond to it but they kept sending me e-mails. Thanks for sharing this with us.

Dear Brandon

Thank you so much for posting this! I received an email this morning from the same scammers (via Los Angeles Craigslist). They wanted to know if I could interview this morning @ 11am. Fortunately, I have a REAL interview at that time. I thought it was a little fishy so I did some googling and came across this site. However, I haven't figured out which ad post belonged to them. It must have been in response to a resume I sent because I was addressed by first name in the email. Here is what I received:
