Crate Training Puppys: Be The Leader

Be the leader when it comes to crate training puppys

Getting a new puppy is an exciting time, whether it is a puppy from a breeder or an older dog from a rescue shelter. It's easy to get carried away and let your puppy run riot because he is so darn cute, but if you do not start as you mean to go on then training can become a mission and be far more difficult than it need be.

If you start crate training puppys from day one though you will soon find that you will have more control over your puppys. Training your puppy with a crate is the only way to go... as you'll soon see.

Puppys will take advantage of any owner that is a little soft on them.

While some new puppy owners may well be too hard on their puppys it is important to make it clear who the leader is early on. Bonding over crate training can be a vital time in your relationship and help you to establish rules at the same time. This way, your puppy will know where he or she stands and can truly work towards becoming man’s best friend!

... Or in my case- "woman's best friend".

Before you begin crate training puppys though, you will need to figure out what you would like to accomplish from it.

Would you like to completely housebreak your puppy while showing you are the pack leader OR or would you prefer to teach your puppy who is boss first and tackle all of the necessary potty training one issue at a time.

I was at a loss when it came to housebreaking my puppy... and honestly, almost ready to give up. I came across a site that was all about crate training puppys.

What I learned from his fast track system established me as the pack leader... which is one of the most important things you will do as a new puppy owner so get it right first time.

Hope that helps,

Megan
