My favourite meal would have to be beef and Reef or surf and turf which mean seafood and steak you can buy it in most pubs or restaurants now but its really expensive so I find if you can make your own. This is my secret recipe so please don't tell anyone OK

Ingredients

Raw prawns king size if you can get them Fresh garlic or garlic in a jar Thickened cream Olive oil Corn flour and of course a nice tender steak what ever you like it's your steak

Method

You can buy raw prawn meat which is best it saves you have to peeling the prawns yourself if you don't like doing it, its up to you how many prawns you want with this dish and also how many people you are feeding. Marinaide the prawns in olive oil and crushed garlic for about an hour in a container in the fridge then you can cook the steak on a grill flying pan barbie whatever's easy for you. It also depends on how you like your steak, just before you have finished cooking the steak pop your steak in the oven to keep it warm. With a wok or frying pan heat some of that oil that youv'e been marinaiding the prawns with adding the prawns and more garlic to the wok or frying pan it up to you how much garlic you want to add but remember you might want to kiss your wife after lol... stirring the prawns won't take long, when the prawns flesh turns red then they are cooked don't forget to keep an eye on the steak now add some thickened cream thats been mixed with a tbl spn or two of corn flour to the prawns now how much cream depends on you if your on a diet get lite cream lol... keep stirring the dish until the garlic prawns has a thicken creamy texture but not too thick. When the steak is ready put it on a plate and pour the creamy garlic prawns on the steak you can serve with chips and salad or baked potato sour cream and corn what ever takes you fancy . bon appetite.

My favourite dish too! I add a dash of Cognac to the creamy sauce. Jck Daniels works well too. The other alternative is to make a peri peri sauce (small crushed red chilies with seeds marinated in Olive oil with  salt and pepper to  taste) and use that (heated) instead of the creamy sauce, also, skip the brandy or jack daniels if using the peri-peri. but, beware the sauce is hot!

Great recipe

Both Cognac or Jack are good, I used both and have no strong preference. just depends on your taste preference at the moment.

Does a prawn taste like shrimp or chicken? or lobster? I've never gotten the courage to eat one...I assume they are in the shrimp family? Hate to sound ignorant, but I'm a bit squeamish at times. However, the recipe sounds delicious...I am tempted...

Hey Mulder, thanks for the shout. I can't wait to try this recipe! I LOVE steak and prawns! Oh by the way, I saw your Henkels cutlery there, awesome stuff. top quality. Have you ever heard of CUTCO? They are also very very good, I have used both, and find them pretty comparable as far as quality goes. I'll try to find a link to them for you!

I have a friend who'll love this! We pick our restaurants by the quality of their garlic prawns, so perhaps we can eat at home for a change!
