There are many benefits to creating a cozy little spot for eating breakfast. You can make it in a tiny corner or small space of your kitchen. Having a space such as this is really handy for having breakfast on the go. Great for kids. A different setting for eating their breakfast may just entice them to actually eat everything on their plates! There really is no need to set up a dining table in a separate room unless you want to. Use a breakfast nook that is easily accessible right in the kitchen. Hopefully it will create less clean up for you as well.

Breakfast Nooks for Company

When company arrives, often people wake up at different intervals. So you can serve them at a little breakfast nook as well. Instead of serving meals individually, if you are strapped for space, try setting up a buffet style breakfast on a counter top and allow guests or family members to help themselves and sit around the house to eat it. This is great for guests. They will feel more comfortable in your home if they have a bit more freedom and less formality and if they are encouraged to help themselves.

Breakfast Nook for Small Space

Here are some ideas for making a breakfast nook in a small space. You can purchase or make a little fold out counter or table to attach to a wall or corner of your kitchen. When not in use, it can be collapsed against the wall. You can have a couple of bar stools or chairs to sit against it. Another idea is to use one side of your kitchen counter and treat that as a little breakfast nook. You can add a couple of bar stools to the counter. Check the heights to make sure the counter height is suitable to the stool height. I personally like this idea: set up a couple of comfy upholstered chairs in a corner along with a nice side table/wooden t.v. tray at each chair. Put the chairs in a nice sunshiny area. People can be served at this area as well.

Setting up a Breakfast Nook

Do you have a sunroom? What about a back porch or front porch? A screened in area is good for eating in, but some climates and atmospheres don't really have as much of an issue with bugs. You could set up such a nice little breakfast nook in one of these spaces. Or even on a balcony if you are an apartment dweller. Do you own a boat? You may be able to set up a little breakfast nook on a top deck. Pass food through a window to someone on the other side to help set the table.

Some things to set out on your breakfast nook are: serviettes/napkins, plates, bowls, cutlery, juice glasses, and water glasses.

Serve some enticing breakfast meals in your breakfast nook! Here are some great ideas: homemade cinnamon buns, muffins, a fruit bowl, breakfast casserole, bacon/sausage with eggs and toast, pancakes or waffles with real maple syrup. Try different juices: apple juice, orange juice, or other fruit juices, milk and water. Now I'm hungry!

I hope this gives you ideas on how to set up a breakfast nook in your home!
