Transcending Karma through Conscious Choice Making

The gentle cycles of the season activates Kriyah, or Karma in Sanskrit.

WItnessing choices awakens the stillness of your body, and your soul, it also quiets the turbulence of your mind. Om Kriyam Namah, translates from Sanskrit into: "my actions are aligned with universal cosmic law". This principle or law supports the act of giving and receiving. As long as we are aware and conscious of our choices, I believe we can create a whole new purposeful future. By witnessing our choices, we experience unlimited, boundless opportunity. Yes, even the opportunity to be a miser, be miserable, and in most cases to be homeless is a choice. Sometimes unconsciously, but when we open our minds, and recognize the power of our thoughts, our choices; we can begin to change our life, and transmute our karma.

The Vedic translation of Om Kriyah Namah is a powerful mantra to awaken your conscious mind. Think before making any choice, any choice at all, ask yourself if you know the consequences of these choices, and how will my choices affect those that I love? Ask yourself if your choices will bring you and others the happiness you desire?

Fall is the Vata season according to Ayurveda, and it's easy to remember because Vata is Air. As you begin to think of air, see the image of a fan blowing wind, feel the experience of wind billowing your body, think of the windy city of Chicago, mostly Vata year long, even in the summer. The island of Maui is great for Vata type's. It's easy to get lost in the Vata energy of constant choice making, with the element of wind supporting and encouraging us to move hastily. To prevent becoming carried away with the wind, it is safe to remember that there are always choices, and each choice is a subjective meaning that it is personal and influenced by your beliefs, thoughts, idea's, information, experiences, and projections.

By transmuting or transcending your karma, you can begin by recognizing your feelings, noticing if you are experiencing comfort within your body, or discomfort. If you are second guessing your choices, then you are not aligned to your personal power or essence. I agree that at times the choices are vast, which house do I buy, what car do I want, what dress looks best on me, and therefore it is wise to have the professional opinions of others to guide you through appropriate choice making. Ultimately know, though that your power, your inner knowledge, is a gift that is just waiting for your recognition. I believe, only YOU KNOW.

The body is smart, signaling those messages of comfort and discomfort allowing us to witness, choose wisely and to be guided by the signals of the body. As you begin to better identify them release all unproductive thoughts and you will continue to move forward until you experience that "Goldie Lock" moment of ahhh-haaaa! Know that your choice feels right, and that your choice is right at this present moment. Find your personal marker, you can then begin to experiment with feelings in your body to signal your conscious choice making. It's easy, it's fun, and it's always right on.

Be fluid, yet still in your e-motion. Glide, float, or just be, you get to CHOOSE.! Om Kriyam Namah. Choose wisely.
