This day in age, everything is on the internet. More and more people are getting websites. But how do you know which hosting site fits your needs? I recently created my own website with Webs, a free site where you can sign up, make a site with a subdomain, or even get your own domain. Whichever one you are getting, you will find Webs is very easy and fun to use!

Signing Up

Signing up for a free website on Webs is easier than opening a Coke. Just pick what you want your subdomain to be (i.e. johnburgdorf.webs.com), create a password, answer a few, not personal, questions and you are off to create and edit your own website.

Just make note then you are choosing a subdomain and not a domain. So after you choose what you want you subdomain to be, the Webs domain comes after that (.webs) then the regular .com. So, if you wanted a website called Kid Rock FM then your website would look like this: www.kidrockfm.webs.com. See? Easy, huh.

The Basics and Editing

Editing and putting content on your website is also very easy and organized. You can join Clicky Stats for free which is a system that tracks the clicks on your website. That including the outline of your website is on the page right after you sign in.

To edit a page or tab on your website, you can just click on the page from the main page. It will bring you to a page where you will see your full page and a chance to edit and add info to it. Along the top of the edit page, you will see you can add content boxes, photos, videos, links, and add on’s. Across from these are the choices for font size, font type, bold, italics, underline, erase, center, some other stuff, and HTML. Above this toolbar are the templates to choose from, preview your site, the publish button for once you have changed your website, sidebars, members, page options, add a new page, and of course the ‘help’ button. Every option is properly organized so it is easily edited. Below the toolbars is your website where the changes will show up.

Extras

Under the add on tab, you can add a variety of stuff including games, music, weather, maps, etc. It is very easy and uncomplicated to choose which game or music you want. Also under the edit page, you can insert HTML’s. HTML’s are used a lot for Google AdSense in posting ads on your site.

Like I said above, I recently created a website with webs. I wrote a hub because I just couldn’t believe how easy it was to create a free website and edit it.
