How to create movies from still photos

What are you doing with all those digital photos?

With the ease and cheapness of digital cameras these days we are all storing ever growing files of images from special moments. The trouble is how we put them together to share with others in an interesting and fun way.

Imagine this:

You have some great pictures you took over the holidays with friends and family having fun. You uploaded them onto your computer but no-one is really terribly interested in standing around looking after a series of still shots. Sound familiar? So now suppose you pick the 6 or 10 best shots, add some really interesting tansitions and effects, record a commentary with your own voice and then roll it up into a movie that you can show on your computer, on a mobile phone, on the TV or even on You Tube... You think you will get their attention with that - I can guarantee it!

The software that you use is actually free from Microsoft so the only real effort lies in taking the time to learn how to make it work best for you.

With digital story telling you can be making your own movies from your photos with your own voice over and over again and everyone will be interested because it is a movie. I don't know why this works but it does.

And the applications for this are quite amazing! I have used digital story telling as a presentation tool when I could not attend a meeting, they still heard my voice and they saw my slides but I wasn't there. I have helped people put together job applications that really made them stand out from the crowd and I have seen people bring life to scrapbooking by means of digital story telling.
