Things To Do With Your Old Computer

What to do with your Old PC , Ever Considered it as Art or a Conversation Piece?

I have seen many articles on what to do with your old PC. First of all, what is "old", is it merely a replacement for your existing 1 year old computer?
Is it 5 years old and has problems ?

How about you have something really truly old and is vintage 1980's.

A unique approach here might be to take that relic and make it a real home in your home. I have a great example of this . My brother in law has an
old vintage IBM-XT PC. -> Picture. The last I checked it still actually powered on, he has diligently moved this from apartment to apartment , home to home
and finally to his current home were it now sits in it's own small room.

He has it placed on a old vintage 80;s desk and bucket fake leather chair. There it sits it's alongside it's trusty dot matrix printer friend. My own children
see it and ask what it is, they have not seen dot matrix printers nor a old PC. They sit entranced by it.. granted for children anything loses interst quickly
but I was fascinated by their reaction.

I myself sit and wonder.. wow we actually used that.. no wonder they considered us geeks. There it sat and stared at me the old green monochrone monitor
those 5 1/4" floppy drives that gave me fits. and that awfull clicking noise keyboard that drove me nuts as my collegues used to type away. Suddenly all the
memoires of days gone bye came back to life.

What a creative use of a OLD PC I thought to myself. He joked for years that he shoudl donate it to the Smithsonian museum until we were there together and
much to his chagine there already sat one. I personally wondered for a brief second if his had been stolen and put there ;-)
