How to save gas on the Pump?

  1. Fill up your gas tank early in the morning; the gas is more dense and you'll actually get more for your money.
  2. Don't top off, when the pump stops, don't round up the dollar amount.
  3. Don't squeeze the handle all the way - set it at the halfway mark. The faster you pump the more air gets in your tank, which means less miles to the gallon.
  4. Always, fill your gas tank when it's half empty, the more space in your tank the less miles to the gallon you'll get.

How to save gas while Driving?

  1. In the morning when you start your car, don't allow it to "cool down, or heat up" drive it right away. Drive at normal speed and let the engine warm on its own.
  2. Roll down your windows first before turning on the A/C. It is harder on your engine to run the A/C and accelerate at the same time. You'll waste more gas and more money by making your car work harder.
  3. Have a light foot, not a lead foot. Pressing down on the gas pedal means wasting more gas. Best way is to use cruise control whenever its possible.
  4. Slow to accelerate at green lights and allow more time to slow for red lights or even yellow lights. Give yourself more time for your driving so that you drive safe and save money on gas.
  5. Speeding on the highway equals spending more on gas - If the posted speed limit says 55 and you drive 65, you're losing 3-5 miles per gallon of gas.

Take Care of your Car which in turn it saves your money on Gas

  1. Fill up with a lower-octane gasoline. Buy the lowest grade or octane of gasoline that is appropriate for your car. Unless your car requires premium gasoline.
  2. Tighten up that gas cap. Gas will evaporate from your car's gas tank if it has an escape.
  3. Go for the shade. The hot summer sun that makes the inside of your car feel like a sauna also zaps fuel from your gas tank.
  4. Use your garage for your car. Parking in your garage will help your car stay warm in winter and cool in summer, and you won't have to depend as much on your gas-guzzling air-conditioning or defroster when you drive.
  5. Check your air filter. Don't get caught driving on underinflated tires. Underinflated tires wear down more quickly and they also lower your car's gas mileage.
  6. Keep your engine in tune. Fixing a car that is out of tune or has failed an emissions test can boost gas mileage by about 4 percent. So be sure to give your car regular tune-ups.
  7. Watchout for worn spark plugs. A misfiring spark plug can reduce a car's fuel efficiency by as much as 30 percent.
  8. Replace air filters. Keep a close eye on your engine's air filter. When the engine air filter clogs with dirt, dust and bugs, it causes your engine to work harder and your car becomes less fuel-efficient.Replacing a clogged air filter could improve your gas mileage by as much as 10 percent and save you 15 cents a gallon. It's a good idea to have your engine air filter checked at each oil change.
  9. Don't skimp on maintenance. Be serious about auto care. Your car's performance depends on it.
  10. Be a More Efficient Driver. Brakes are your enemy. When you step on them, you have spent gas to go nowhere. Think ahead to limit the amount of brakes that you need to use
  11. Use Cruise Control. A constant speed is the most fuel efficient.
  12. Use a GPS tracker. Time spent lost is gas wasted.
  13. Don't carry extra weight in your trunk.
  14. Get the Best Price on Gas. Check out the lowest price of gas in your near by gas stations. Ans also check out for credit cards which gives you cash back on your gas purchase.
  15. Get Gas at the Right Time.
  16. Check your air filter.
