Time To Cut Your Credit Cards...

Your Bank Needs YOUR Money Now!
Your Bank Needs YOUR Money Now!

Have You Gotten Your Easter Surprise?

Members of Congress decided to wait till their Spring Break Vacation was over to begin tackling the TOUGH issues like new credit card regulations. One thing that Congress did not count on or maybe they did was the fact that many credit card companies did not take a Spring Break Vacation.

Instead they were very busy at work on their own banking issues. Things like how to look profitable after taking billions from the taxpayers, or how to charge more for services that used to be free, but the best of all came with the billing cycles sent out just in time for Easter.

Consumers did not get a treat from those same credit card companies. Instead they received notices that their accounts were going to be double the interest that they were used to. Even those with excellent or perfect credit were sent the increase notices.

Another change in tactic from the banks and credit issuers centers around people who carry a monthly balance. Their interest rates were jumping too.

How can something like that happen? After all Congress passed new rules in December that will limit the banks ability to increase a person interest rates... oh dear reader... that legislation does not take effect until June, 2010.

With times being as tough as they are on all Americans doesn't it seem wrong for banks to be taking these huge steps to increase their bottom line? In their defense they state that it is the economy that is forcing them to do so.

President Obama has had some strong words for these same banks that received billions from the tax payers but time will tell if those words ring on deaf ears.
