When I got my first credit card it didn't come with any reward, but I was a college student at the time and was lucky to get approved for one since I had zero credit history.

Now I have three credit cards and each one has a reward with it, and I love credit card rewards! My favorite kind of reward is cash back, because with every purchase I am getting a little bit off. On some purchases I get five percent back. If you add this up with coupons you can make a real killing.

I admit that most credit cards have an outrageous interest rate, and not paying off your balance in full every billing cycle is really a waste of money and your reward goes right down the drain.

But if you pay off the balance every month I think the reward is worth the hassle since you aren't paying any extra money in interest.  Make sure you also get a card that has no annual fee.  Many people have a debt problem, and they blame credit cards as the culprit.  Just try and not to spend more than you can afford and you should do alright.
