Credit cards for people with no credit come in a lot of different varieties, most of which are accompanied by high interest rates. That's ok - you aren't going to pay interest anyway if you manage your credit correctly.

What is interesting to note is once a credit card company begins to trust you they will begin to lower their interest rate. This means if pay your credit card off regularly your interest rate will begin to decline. Even though these cards have a rather high interest rate they do offer balance transfers. This means that your rating can increase over time and a good way to get yourself back on the right track.


Getting Credit Cards With No Credit

So how do you grab one of these really cool no credit cards bearing in mind your really less than stellar financial history? Well the first step is to research about these credit cards which are issued to people with poor credit history which are also called poor credit cards. You can apply for a few of them either online or by printing out the application form.

There are times when you might apply online for these cards and get approved in mere minutes. If you choose to mail your application from it might take longer for you to get a response. Many of these poor credit cards will start you off with a small limit such as $250 to $500 depending on your credit score. Some companies might offer you a larger bigger limit as compared to others but it won't be as much as what you get accompanied by a ordinary credit card.

I personally couldn't get approved for any cards at all when I started building my credit. I had too many negative items on my credit report. That meant opting for secured credit cards for a while. It worked out quite well for me and I built my credit score up to over 720.

  1. A higher than usual interest rate can turn back many people especially those that find themselves financially tight.
  2. A low limit means that you really can't use it much except for fulfilling petty expenses.
  3. Some of these cards are accompanied by high annual fees and service charges.
