So can women wear cuff links? Do girls look good in then? To many of us cuff links are still firmly associated with men. We have become used to the idea that smart men in a business suit, dinner jacket or tuxedo can wear cuff links and for many of us cuff links remain exclusively a man thing.

Not so. Ladies can do cufflinks too! When women need to wear more formal clothes in the office or a business setting then a smart shirt or blouse is often worn with a skirt or trouser suit. It is therefore perfectly sensible to make the look more feminine by adding matching cuff links, with a feminine look and style, as well as other jewellery such as a broach, necklace or pendant.

The main reason many men and women don’t wear cuff links is the design of the shirt. Most men and women’s shirts and blouses have a button cuff but only a few also have button holes for cuff links as well.

Others are specifically designed for cuff links and have a fold over cuff with double holes for the cuff links on each sleeve. These are known as French Cuffs. This is what you need to look for if you really want to give cuff links a serious try.

So Are There Cufflinks Designed For Girls?

They certainly are. Fortunately you don't have to wear the male variety with naked ladies or mugs of beer. There is an amazing range of cufflinks designed especially for girls and many cuff link designs are unisex.

Women's cuff links are easy to find via the Internet and can be as feminine as you want. From cuff links made from precious metal such as silver or gold to those encrusted with real or fake jewels, enamelled designs or bearing fun slogans.

Cuff links are not only for the office or business but can look really great for an evening out when you want to look casually smart and sassy.

Cuff links are a way of making a statement about who you are and making sure you get noticed and remembered. Cufflinks look great on ladies with or without a jacket.

So Girls, Why Bother With Cuff Links?

Its a great way to wear jewellery at work and in a more formal setting. Also many men find the whole woman dressed for business thing very attractive and alluring.

There is something about a woman dressed formally yet with feminine flair which is a definite turn on for men.  Yes, cuff links can be sexy!

From smart heals, black stockings to figure hugging skirt or trousers and jacket. It is the feminine touches such as jewelled cuff links on a shaped shirt or a spectacular pendant that reminds him that under the formal pinstriped exterior you are all woman underneath.

So girls, why not go and get some snappy shirts or blouses with french cuffs and then find yourself some feminine cuff links to match. Start your search right now via the internet.

You know you want to and the guys at the office will simply adore your great new look! Remember women really can look great in cufflinks! It is also a sure way of standing out from the crowd and projecting your own individual style.

(Making sure that her stocking seams are straight and that her waisted jacket sits neatly over her knee-length pencil skirt...) Hmm - cuff links, eh? Better than handcuffs, I suppose...

Vivenda - do I sense subtle disapproval of cufflinks on women?

love these - but I don't think that they should be limited to formal/business wear. being a tomboy - with an occasional urge to add something pretty to my jeans and shirt - I think cuff links are my way forward ....

I wear them for work, and like them.

Lphigenia - I've always thought of them as a male thing but logically they are probably even more suitable for girls, particularly if you are wearing a shirt or blouse. As you say, if you are a tomboy, feminine cufflinks are a great way to soften the look.

LondonGirl - glad to hear from a woman who actually wears them to work. Certainly makes sense if you are in a job where relatively formal dress is the norm. One interesting point - although this article is all about cufflinks for girls, the UK AdSense ads are mostly aimed at men!

A lot of barristers do wear them, in the UK. Men pretty much have to, a lot of women choose to. We also wear collar studs and collar-less attached shirts, too!

Interesting LG - I know the legal profession in the UK is very conservative about dress for men and women. I guess you have a limited opportunity to dress individually so cuff links are a way of personalising your look (but I bet 'sex kitten' or 'chocoholic' cuff links might not go down well in court!)

I have beautiful cuff links but cannot find a woman's shirt that takes them. They all have buttons securing the French cuffs. Where can I buy a woman's shirt that has the proper holes in the cuffs for the links??

Link Lady - Ebay certainly does them - do a search on the Ebay site under 'woman shirt french cuffs' and you should find a few. You can then buy online. Alternatively, put this search into Google and you may find other suppliers where you live. Good luck, Rik
