Cuil | search engine | cuil | world's best search engine | Search Engine
54The new search engine Cuil launched Monday. It searches nearly 121617892992 web pages. Cuil searches more pages on the Web than anyone else--three times as many as Google and ten times as many as Microsoft. Rather than rely on superficial popularity metrics, Cuil searchs for and ranks pages based on their content and coherence.
Cuil's aim is to solve the two great problems of search: i.e.(i) how to analyse and sort out its pages so that the user get relevant result, and (ii) how to index the whole internet.
Cuil have created the world's biggest index. Cuil have also developed useful features to help you search. They are very simple to use and help the user to explore the variety and complexity of the Web.
Cuil had kept a low profile while Anna Patterson, her husband, Tom Costello, and two other former Google Engineers--Russel Power and Louis Monier-- searched for better ways to search. Now it's boasting time.
Finally, Cuil is hoping to attract traffic by promising not to retain information about its users' search histories or surfing patterns--something that Google does, much to the consternation of privacy watchdogs.
Cuil got off to a rocky start on Monday as its computers were overwhelmed by curious Web surfers. As of late Monday afternoon, even simple requests were still being greeted as "No results because of high load".PrintShare it! — Rate it: up down flag this hub
