A fire pit takes a mundane looking patio or a gazebo to a whole new level. It adds warmth in the cool nights and acts as a barbeque in the summers. An outdoor fire pit is the perfect solution to avoid the chills outdoors in the nights. The popularity of the fire pits is on the rise and many people have started realizing that investing on an outdoor fire pit will be much cheaper than investing on costlier fire holding equipments.

The first and the foremost popular design that was available was the in ground cylindrical fire pit, this was the most permanent form of design. They are holes in the ground that will hold the wood and fire and surrounded by walls to prevent fire from spreading around. It is generally open fire away from the home as a safety measure. This round setting will be great for get-togethers seeing the ashes and sitting in around it and having barbeque and reliving fun moments is exhilarating.

If you cannot afford the expense of a custom built, in-ground fire pit, there are designs such as chimineas and patina designer fire pits for you. The portable line of outdoor fire pit designs is catered for humans who want flexibility and ease of comfort. We want to relax when we want to and can choose to sit back in the backyard or near the swimming pool or in the campfire on the beach. With a stand alone pit you have a limiting factor such as non mobility. The advances in the design has enabled options which make barbeque fun and entertaining with friends around.

A flat grill that comes along will enable you to make great burgers and have the steak of your choice on a summer afternoon. The fuels that many use are charcoal or wood, whatever the consumption it brings in great memories.

The fire pits use natural gas instead of wood depending on the model you intend to choose. The propane gas models is the permanent custom built ones in which they need to be connected to your home's natural gas lines. Right from the start, if you have a great villa and own the place then the custom built one can be integrated. There are many security measures when it comes to installing one away as flames can be hazardous if care is not taken.

The patina line of portable designs is oval shaped like a bowl or box and you can enjoy the fire and feel cozy even on a crisp autumn morning.
