Customizing The Standard Golf Cart

Most people think a golf cart is a golf cart and that is the end of the matter but a lot of people want to make their golf cart stand out from the crowd of beige parked up at the golf club and they put their money where their mouth is to get a customized golf cart. If you want to try customizing a golf cart you would probably do best to start with a used golf cart for your first attempt.

You might think there is not a lot you can do to change the appearance of a golf cart other than changing the color. They are such basic utility vehicles there doesn't seem to be a lot you can do. You would be wrong to think so and there are some amazing customized golf carts out there.

You can keep the changes pretty simple but some people go the whole nine yards and change just about everything. Body styling makes the most difference to the appearance and a favorite customizing feature seems to be to make your golf cart appear like a smaller version of a classic car.

How To Start Customizing Your Golf Cart

When you decide to customize any vehicle you need to start out with a vision of what you would like to achieve. You may not be able to do everything you imagine you would like to do but there has to be a broad outline idea of what it should look like when you are finished.

For an example of this let's say you decide you fancy a golf cart that looks like a dune buggy. First you need to focus on what makes a dune buggy look like it does. It will have big tires and a vehicle body that looks a little like a bathtub that you sit in rather than on top of, the way it is with a golf buggy.

Sketch out some rough drawings and refer to the web to find some pictures of the sort of vehicle you want to replicate. Color may be significant and if you wanted a funeral hearse like golf buggy, some people do, it would have to be painted black or it just wouldn't look right. If you fancy the look of a fire engine then red would be the right color.

Getting The Balance Right

You could plaster your customized golf cart with all sorts of accessories to give it the look you want but too much can make it look trashy. Care taken with adding the right amount of additional features to give the look of whatever it is you are trying to achieve will always result in a better appearance. You want the style of the vehicle you are trying to replicate not a cartoon version.

If you are unsure about doing the customizing work yourself you can find plenty of custom golf carts for sale online and you might find one in a style that you love but you would never thought of doing yourself so check out what is available.
