Cut the Mustard
56Got to cut the mustard
'He just isn't cutting the mustard.' A throw away remark by a friend of mine about a certain ashes cricketer that would inspire me on my entrepreneurial pilgrimage! By the cutting the mustard, I mean initially covering all basic needs. Goal #1: Cut the mustard.
How does one cut mustard? How do I make money without money? Having learnt some great tips from a seminar by a legend called Mark Townson (He has a finance company as well as being an inspirational speaker www.2mtrust.com) I decided to engage the principal: 'think and grow rich'.
The challenge for my brain was to come up with 20 answers to these questions: What do I love? What am I good at? What can I make money from almost right away? and finally, what do I want to learn?
I didn't manage to get 20 for all of them, but where there were solutions that ticked every box, that's where I've started.
I love music. I love people and seeing them progress. I'm good at guitar and I want to learn to be a great musician and sales skills....Eureka! I taught my first guitar lesson towards the end of September 2009, and at the time of writing I have 6 students... it's a start!
More to come on the other things I have been doing to ensure the mustard is in a continuous state of being cut.
